Purpose of this guide
This guide walks you through the process of installing and using the HySpell Armenian Spell-checker for Firefox.
These instructions have been tested with version 3.6.3, the latest release of Firefox as of this writing.
Before you proceed, please make sure you have installed Mozilla Firefox, the most popular cross-platform Web browser. Firefox is a great alternative to Internet Explorer, because it provides both a safer web browsing experience as well as a wider feature set than Internet Explorer. You can download it for free from www.firefox.com
Step 1. Login to your account at HySpell.com
After purchasing a license from the HySpell website, you will be emailed your username and password. Use these to log in to your account using your Firefox web browser.
Step 2. Click the link to the Mozilla Installer (XPI) file
Step 3. Click the “Allow” button to proceed to installation
Step 4. Click “Install Now” in the new window that appears
Step 5. Click “Restart Firefox” to complete the installation
Step 6. After Firefox restarts, verify that the installation succeeded by seeing “HySpell Armenian Spelling Support” in the list of Add-ons
Using the spell-checker
Step 1. Go to the web page where you will enter Armenian text.
For example, compose a new email with your Gmail, Yahoo! Mail, or Hotmail account; compose a new message in Facebook; or start editing a new document in Google Docs.
Step 2. Right-click in the text area where you will write, and make sure that “Check spelling” is enabled
Step 3. Right-click in the text area again and under the “Languages” option, select “Armenian / Armenia” to switch to spell-checking in Armenian.
You can switch back to another language at any time.
Step 4. Start typing in Armenian
Misspelled words will be underlined with a red-dotted line. To correct it, right-click on the misspelled word and choose a correctly spelled word from the suggestion list. Alternatively, you can add a new word (such as a name) to the spell-checker's dictionary by selecting “Add to Dictionary.”
